DB police sources said, a team of DB police led by Senior Assistant Commissioner (AC) Asaduzzaman challenged a private car when it was moving suspiciously in front of Dhaka club at about 2:45 am. As the detectives chased the private car, the gangsters fired targeting the law enforcers near Matsya Bhaban. The DB police also responded with fire, said Officer in charge (OC) Mohammad Shah Alam of Ramna Police Station. At one stage, 2-3 gangsters fled the scene leaving behind the private car and police found one of the criminals lying inside the private car in a pool of blood, he said. The injured criminal was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. One pistol and one sharp weapon were recovered from inside the private car. Raju was wanted in 42 cases including of robbery, dacoity and car hijacking, he said
